Our mission is to provide customers with the highest quality lab grown diamonds at the lowest prices. Lab grown diamonds are certified as carbon neutral, so you don't have to worry about your carbon footprint when looking for your next statement piece. As we only have one planet, we strongly believe that the use of recycled materials is the best way to take care of our earth. This allows us to provide you with the highest quality jewellery at an affordable price.
All our lab grown diamonds are ethically sourced. Traditional diamonds are sourced from underground mines and blasted with explosives. For every carat of diamond that is mined, nearly 10 square metres of land is disrupted and almost 3,000kgs of waste is created. Due to this careless method of sourcing diamonds, it has left the environment in a poor and disastrous state. In severe cases this has caused devastating damage to the ecosystem and wildlife.
We may not be able to reverse the destruction caused by the irresponsible mining, but our goal is to reduce our carbon footprint and look after our wildlife. Lab grown diamonds are physically and chemically identical to mined diamonds, however, are free of environmental and ethical harm.
There are two ways to create lab grown diamonds, High Pressure High Temperature System (HPHT), and Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD). Both start off with a seed, which is a cut up slither of another diamond.
The High Pressure High Temperature process uses intense amounts of heat and pressure on natural graphite in a machine. The graphite then turns into a diamond. This is done to replicate the Earth’s natural process of creating diamonds.
The Chemical Vapour Deposition process uses a diamond ‘seed’, which is placed in a chamber where it is filled with gas. Layers of carbon begin to form on the seed crystal once the gas reaches the correct temperature.
When we claim that our diamonds are “conflict free”, we go above and beyond the Kimberley Process definition. Traditional diamond mining involves the exploitation of workers and children in countries where diamonds are found the most, such as South Africa and Russia. These diamonds are tainted with violence, the abuse of human rights, environmental deterioration and poverty. Mined diamonds result in injury for 1 in every 1,000 workers annually. As the traditional mining process comprises of explosives, this has caused devastating health issues to the labourers working in the inhumane conditions. Health issues such as the increased risk of cancer, hearing loss due to the explosives, and lung problems as a result of unsafe working conditions in the mines.
Within the past two decades, seven African countries have sustained vicious civil conflicts fuelled by mined diamonds: Angola, Côte d’Ivoire, the Central African Republic, the Republic of Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Liberia and Sierra Leone. These diamonds have been used to finance militaries when sides were fighting over diamond territories. Millions of lives were lost during these merciless wars and millions are still recovering from the consequences.
The practice of lab grown diamonds protects against human rights abuses, minimises environmental harm and preserves the safe and responsible practices of labour. They are much safer, ethically conscious and healthier for the workers and environment compared to traditionally mined diamonds. Our lab grown diamond suppliers are required to source diamonds from established laboratories that practice ethical labour, trade and environmental standards.
Gold mining has a dirty history of civil war, abuse of labourers and human rights as well as disastrous impacts on the environment. The repercussions of this mining practice has left the water polluted in areas surrounding the mines, inhumane labour practices and lack of safety for the miners working underground in dangerous conditions. For every ⅓ oz gold ring, gold mining companies generate around 18 tonnes of toxic waste. Approximately 165 million tonnes of this toxic waste (consisting of grey liquid sludge, full of cyanide and lethal heavy metals), is dumped into natural bodies of water.
Eco-friendly recycled metals are gold, silver, platinum and palladium that have been melted down to be reused to create jewellery. Almost all of our products are created with recycled metals that derive from our leftovers. The scrap is melted down and refined, ready to be used again. We at Dove Diamonds strive to minimise the unethical practices of gold mining by reusing and recycling metals already available to us. With the refining process, there is no degradation of the metal’s quality.

Mined diamonds might look pretty, but boy do they wreak havoc on the environment. For starters, they require huge machinery and explosives, which dig deep into the earth, disturb habitats, pollute the water, render the land unusable, and create literal tons of mineral waste. That’s not to mention energy and water usage, carbon emissions, occasional disasters, or the release of harmful gases like Sulphur oxide.
Here’s the full breakdown. Traditionally mined diamonds produce over 125 pounds of carbon per carat, while lab-grown diamonds generate just 6 pounds of carbon per carat. Mined diamonds also produce over 30 pounds of Sulphur oxide while lab-grown diamonds produce none. In total, air emissions on a single carat of a mined diamond are 1.5 billion times higher than those of a lab-grown one. Moving into water and energy usage, a mined diamond consumes more than 126 gallons of water.
